Genic Hereditary Care is South India’s leading genetic clinic, a unit of Genicomics Research (OPC) Pvt. Ltd was founded in 2023 by Aruthra in Tamil Nadu, India, and registered under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and MSME, government of India.
Genic Hereditary Care is a private genetic clinic in Tamil Nadu, India, focused on improving the quality of life of individuals with genetic disorders and their families by applying advanced genetic technologies (commonly understood as genetic tests) to understand their genetic health and guide them according to standard genetic and medical protocols.
Meet Our Founder
Aruthra Balasubramanian is a Geneticist specializing in Genetic counseling from JIPMER,Pondicherry; Onco-genomics (cancer genetic diagnostics) from MedGenome, Bangalore; and Prenatal Genetic diagnostics from Lifecell, Chennai. Her knowledge and experience in handling patients and families with the impact of genetic diseases disorders and genetic diagnostics make her a leading genetic professional (Geneticist) in India. Her unique ideas in genetic research to help society improve their quality of life with innovations, educate and bring awareness among Indian society about genetics to prevent genetic disorders, she founded Genic Hereditary care .
She is experienced in handling couples with recurrent pregnancy loss, and stillbirth; children with Down syndrome, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), Thalassemia, Sickle cell anemia, Battler disease, Turner’s syndrome, Patau syndrome, Osteogenesis imperfecta, Achondrogenesis Imperfecta, Pompe disease, MPS, and other rare diseases from JIPMER; premarital genetic counseling, and pre-conception genetic counseling. Aruthra has been exposed to various psychological cases that deepened her knowledge of the impact of genetic conditions on the psycho-social of affected couples and families.
Her industrial experience in genetic diagnostics (called genetic testing) includes finding certain genetic disorders in the fetus (growing baby) during the pregnancy period itself called prenatal genetic testing; finding the genetic cause of cancer, type of gene mutation that caused cancer in the cancer patients and appropriate targeted genetic drugs for cancer patients called Targeted therapy
